I'll show you mine if you show me yours....

Robyn and cardygirl are showing us their sewing rooms, mine is still a bit of a mess really, the only room in the house that I have not yet managed to get into in "my clean out before we move"
And Deb showed us hers a while back when she was having a sort out...

actually, I am really trying to put off this room for as long as possible! Aren't these curtains just so so UGLY! Don't know why I have never bothered to do something about them....

I visited my friend Michelle today, and her sewing room is so lovely, bigger then mine.. and we will not mention how much tidier it is either. Nor how much better organised.... hrmphhh!

but I do quite like this little corner, it's the only area that is pretty clear...

although my buttons are pretty tidy

and so are these threads.I am so glad that we cannot see inside these drawers however, they are quite a nightmare. I have decided that these can be moved just as they are, they need a good paint and makeover, new handles etc, so that's a job for my Twizel days...

.....but Rowing Man is definitely letting the side down over here in his little corner... much like his car was really!

come for a Saturday stroll with me

my sister called down this morning, with her collie puppy - Scotty - all of 6 months old, he is just so lovely and fluffy, and she brought Mollie with her also (although I have just noticed that Mollie - black curlie haired border collie cross with something is not in any of the photos)

So we headed down the path...

and out of the gate.. must pick up the leaves later!

which way to go?

let's follow the train tracks then....

isn't this just the perfect little tranquil spot,

autumn is a very favourite time of year for me, I just love all the changing colours on the trees, and it is just such lovely warm day today, makes a dramatic change from last week when it was so cold and miserably WET..

and look at how lovely the sky is, the sun is trying to peek thru all those clouds...

and look at this, not at all angry as it may suggest, but the cloud mix is something else!

and back up the road towards home again. Poor wee Scotty is quite pooped, bet he will sleep most of the rest of the morning...

and on with the day. We (rowing boy, french chic and her Mum are heading out of town this afternoon to look at a countryish church for the wedding, up on the coast about 40 mins north of Dunedin. So I am off to clean rowing man's car 'cos it is a right cesspool!

have a fun Saturday!

BRRRRR it's chilly,

it was a chilly minus 0.5 degrees Celsius when we left Twizel in the very early hours of the dawning morn today....

thank goodness for a car with seat warmers, and a cuddly flannel rag quilt, and a hot cuppa tea

We had a wonderful weekend with our very good friends Colleen and Pete, who travelled from Wellington via Christchurch airport, for a very cold but wonderfully relaxing weekend. It was so great. We stitched (while the guys did their he man we will chop wood stuff), chatted, and walked, and walked and chatted, played rummykub (anyone know that game?), chatted some more, stitched some more, and did I mention that we ate and ate and ate.....

there were a few flurries of snow on the deck early on Sunday morning, but it did not really amount to very much,

but by the time we got to Dunedin this morning - WOW, snow all around the hill suburbs, and the entrance to the city was sooooooooooo pretty. Rowing man would not stop at that time of the morning 'tho so no photos sorry.

But I did take this one on the road to Twizel....

and right now I am home in front of a blazing fire, warming up nicely and thinking about the night's stitching ahead of me!!!!

P.S. Have you seen all these great giveaways?

see this one at Sophie's

and this one at Daisy Quilts check the post for May 2nd

so much to do and so little time!!!

there are packing boxes simply everywhere! I really do not enjoy this one little bit, and I am taking so long over it. I get a little rush, and find that I am quite ruthless with the sorting, and then next time I am completely and utterly useless and cannot bare to be parted with goodies. The trouble is, I really do NOT need to keep everything, but sorting out what to keep and what to discard is very problematic...

so these are packed ready to go,

but these still need some sorting and organising

This dresser is really stressing me, I cannot imagine that it will fit in anywhere in any of the Twizel houses.... so what am I going to do with all the fragile contents - storage?

and these will need new homes

so are you a hoarder... or can you be ruthless when having this sort of clean out!

but the pantry got a jolly good clean out

and I found these bears which were the children's favourites many years ago - how can one bear to part with these

stressed - what does that really mean -
dictionary definition: "pressure of load, weight, some adverse force or influence, condition of things demanding or marked by strained effort"

hmmmmmmmm...

I checked out Melanie's blog jellybean angel this evening, she has some really lovely photos of her countryside - and then I checked out Connie's blog, where she was talking about the simple things in life, so I thought that I would share with you some photos that Rowing Man and I took early on on Saturday..
we wandered through the botanical gardens - where the leaves were all falling from the trees..thru the university - the old..

the new..
and the traditional - simply everyone has their graduation photos taken under this old clock tower building - it is a real university landmark!
past the new shopping mall (it was closed thank goodness!)the museum was open however....
.... they have the best ever coffee shop so maybe it was open for early bird brekky seekers,
and still we wandered....
