it was a chilly minus 0.5 degrees Celsius when we left Twizel in the very early hours of the dawning morn today....
thank goodness for a car with seat warmers, and a cuddly flannel rag quilt, and a hot cuppa tea
We had a wonderful weekend with our very good friends Colleen and Pete, who travelled from Wellington via Christchurch airport, for a very cold but wonderfully relaxing weekend. It was so great. We stitched (while the guys did their he man we will chop wood stuff), chatted, and walked, and walked and chatted, played rummykub (anyone know that game?), chatted some more, stitched some more, and did I mention that we ate and ate and ate.....
there were a few flurries of snow on the deck early on Sunday morning, but it did not really amount to very much,
but by the time we got to Dunedin this morning - WOW, snow all around the hill suburbs, and the entrance to the city was sooooooooooo pretty. Rowing man would not stop at that time of the morning 'tho so no photos sorry.
But I did take this one on the road to Twizel....
and right now I am home in front of a blazing fire, warming up nicely and thinking about the night's stitching ahead of me!!!!

It looks so beautiful there..glad you had a nice weekend & managed to get some stitching done.
love the look of the snow on the alps-kind of makes me homesick! cheers Teri
That looks very cold to me and I am not a lover of winter. It sounded like a lovely wekend. Is rummykub like rummiking????
Gosh it was a nippy change of weather this weekend wasn't it Shiree. Such a great weekend for stitching and catching up wth friends like you did.
I hope you and Colleen managed to have an ocassional glass of wine with that eating and stitching, after all isn't that mandatory?
The weekend sounds great. I have played Rummikub and like it a lot. I also played Sequence which is a board game too but my favorite game is Skip-Bo which is cards. I think it's more fun with only two persons than in a group.
As your weather cools down, ours is getting warmer.
Hi Shiree, sympathies I have a hubby like that so I'm often pointing the camera out of the car window. Lovely pic of the snowy mountains.
Well done for getting some stitching done.
Oh WOW look at those mountains!!! That really is something else! NZ looks so incredibly beautiful! Sounds like you had a great weekend too.... oh and loved your recent post with the dog-walk... thanks for sharing! Autumn is also my favourite time of the year, and there's nothing more passionate and inspiring than an incredible sky!
Vikki :-)
