Life is Beautiful...

I started this last year... maybe a bit earlier??
and pulled it out last week in my efforts to finish off a WISP... you know how that works!
Helen released this way back, and I offered it as a BOM last year, really popular particularly in the yummylicious French General fabrics as Helen has done..
so all my inspirational stitcheries are done,
and placed 'n' sorted on this gorgeous if subdued Evening Mist fabric range from Sentimental Studios for Moda (been moved about a bit since taking this photo tho')
soooo... I am really rocking into this and keen to get this top pieced, and another WISP ticked off the list, and onto a bed, or wall, or ... somewhere (very likely stored at my Mum's until we move into our new home!)
so true huh!
Enjoy what is left of your week,

where I create..

Hello and Welcome everyone to my space!
                    My name is Shiree
and I live in the centre of the South Island of New Zealand, in a teeny tiny town called Twizel, at the base of the majestic Mt Cook.
This year I have decided to join in Karen's 4th annual event party sharing our work spaces and studios from around the world. I am hoping that next year if I participate again, I will see a dramatic change in my work space, we are building a new house and so I will have a lovely new spot for creating..
so please keep that in mind when you look at these photos....
 a quiet sunny corner
this chair is perfect for hand quilting or stitching
this is what it is all about huh..
now this area is quite messy and only slightly disorganised, (DUH), remember what I said about moving in a few months, so as long as I can work here in the meantime... my long arm usually sits on this frame but it is currently away being serviced,
some threads
and a favourite quilt..
or 2, this is my favourite corner, with one of my most favourite quilts ever, I just love how bright it is...
well, I hope you enjoy your day!

Whirligig and Earth'n'Twig

yep... my stitching n sewing mojo back, let's hope my organisational mojo and get moving mojo is doing the same.
I managed to complete this quilt top last night,
I am really happy with the end result
and I am so glad I put these little tabs on, thanks Sarah! - they really do add to the quilt ~ so quirky,
and I am so loving the big print fabric, this was the inspiration for making this quilt
even tho' I had to "ever so patiently" make all these little tabs, from all my scraps of course
check out Sarah's book, full of marvellous inspiration, I have already started working on " A Wing & A Prayer" - started in flight on the way to Perth a few weeks ago but have come to a ground halt until Fenella sends me some more of the fabric I am missing... Of course I  stock this book of Sarah's in my shop if you want a copy?
and once that was done, I moved onto some hand stitching to put these blocks together - I took these to Perth as well, so finally catching up on most of my projects
just the embellishing now, maybe later today...
Rowing Man and I watched a movie on Earnest Hemingway and Martha Gellhorn last night - really enjoyed it, fabulous movie with some great cinematics, and historical significance, detailing their lives together and war correspondence activities.. can't remember what is was titled however,
So pop on over here, and check out what other's managed for FNSI.
How was your Friday night?
